I started out as a lawyer.

Truth be told, I was an English major, and after college I really didn’t know what I wanted to do, so becoming a lawyer didn’t sound so bad. I actually learned a lot about writing in law school. Graduated with honors. But I found the practice of law boring.

Eventually I made my way to advertising. First as a suit, then as a writer. I worked for major agencies like DDB, FCB, O&M, GSD&M (places with lots of letters) on some amazing brands like Chili’s, Sears, Craftsman, DieHard, Southwest Airlines, John Deere, Dell, Dell Technologies, US WEST, Qwest, Coors and Coors Light/U.S.A. and Canada, Molson, Moosehead, S.C. Johnson, Kraft, Dow, Jim Beam, Boeing, Hampton Inn, DoubleTree, Wal-Mart, PGA Tour, Texas and Illinois Lottery, National Tire and Battery, Pearle Vision, On the Border, Macaroni Grill, DIRECTV, Austin Ballet, Kimberly-Clark, Kyocera Mobile, NorthShore University HealthSystem, Lilly, AstraZeneca, Medtronic, Synergy, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Herradura, El Jimador, and Cellular One, just to name a few. I worked on and off in Canada for 2 years. Spent 10 in Austin, Texas. Love the folks down there. I’ve had a lot of titles. Vice President, Creative Director. Esquire. But the best title I ever had was the simplest one.

Writer.

I’ve written a couple of thrillers, a book of horror and science fiction stories, and a screenplay that is near and dear to my heart. I also freelance on TV, Radio (God I love Radio), Print, Digital. Truth be told, I love all kinds of writing. You name it, I’ll write about it. For me, in the end it all comes down to one thing.

Storytelling.

I bring the maturity of years, the business savvy of an account executive, and the creative talent of a real writer to the business. This gives me a unique view not often found in today’s market.

I tell stories. About People. Brands. Passion.
